Schools care for children, and the tools they use should reflect that. MyScholarSchool is designed so that communication is appropriate, access is controlled, and concerns can be raised and reviewed — supporting the safeguarding policies each school already has in place.
Student wellbeing is a core design principle, not a feature we added later. Where a design choice affects children, we favour the option that keeps communication visible to the right adults, limits unnecessary contact, and gives schools oversight.
Messaging on the platform follows a permission model rather than being open by default:
Guardians are linked to their own children and receive the notifications and access appropriate to that relationship — attendance alerts, results, fee reminders and school announcements. Parents see their own child's information, not that of other families.
When something isn't right, it should be easy to flag and clear who reviews it. The platform provides:
Report a conversation
Flag a whole conversation for review when its pattern is a concern.
Report a message
Raise a specific message that breaches expectations.
Administrative review
Reports route to school administrators through a clear review workflow.
Audit logging
Moderation actions are logged, so reviews and outcomes are traceable.
Staff access is role-based. A teacher sees the students and classes relevant to their work; finance staff see fee information; administrators see what they need to run the school. Student information is not broadly visible to everyone with an account — access follows the person's role and responsibility.
Consistent attendance tracking and parent notifications can help schools notice patterns — such as repeated or unexplained absence — that sometimes signal a welfare concern. The platform surfaces the information; trained staff make the judgements, in line with the school's safeguarding procedures.
Children's data is handled with heightened care
Safeguarding responsibility ultimately rests with each school and its designated staff, guided by local law and the school's own policy. MyScholarSchool's role is to provide tools that make those policies easier to uphold — controlled communication, clear reporting routes, role-based access and welfare signals — so schools can act on what matters.
Our team supports schools across every step, from onboarding to end-of-term reporting.
